We are recruiting for a Compliance and Health and Safety Manager to join a leading plastics manufacturer based near Liverpool. This Compliance, H&S Manager role is a permanent position working Monday to Thursday 8.30am-5pm and Friday 8.30am-4.30pm offering a salary of £(phone number removed) per annum dependent on experience plus excellent benefits as below.
As Compliance and H&S Manager you will maintain Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures to support the business inline with HSE legislation and best practice. You will also take ownership for their Integrated Management System, maintaining and audit the effectiveness of all systems throughout the company ensuring they meet ISO9001, 14001, 45001, 45003, and BRCGS.
Your main duties will be as follows:
Develop and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and documentation.
Ensure compliance with statutory health, safety, and welfare obligations.
Proactively work with managers to establish safe systems of work.
Communicate health and safety information effectively across the organisation.
Provide comprehensive reports and statistics to senior management.
Maintain BRCGS and ISO accreditations.
Produce risk assessments, method statements, and construction phase health and safety plans.
Maintain accurate records of accidents and near misses, conducting thorough investigations when necessary.
Conduct site audits and ensure implementation of action plans.
Organise and manage health, safety, and environmental training.
Oversee environmental initiatives and conduct regular premise audits.
Manage fire alarm testing and drills.
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:
Previous experience of working in a Health and Safety Manager within a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of Health & safety to IOSH/ NEBOSH level ideally
Strong decision-making, problem solving and motivational skills.
Accident prevention.
Risk assessment good understanding of the technical skills required of operatives working in a Manufacturing Environment.
Strong IT skills (Intermediate/Advanced Excel knowledge) - demonstrating the ability to extract data and use it.
Good Commercial awareness and understanding of the impact of costs.
Knowledge of ‘Systems Thinking' principles and their implementation
Ability to write and communicate comprehensive health and safety reports.
Clean UK Driving License
