Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Attendance and Family Support Worker to join our team at a vibrant school in Birmingham, West Bromwich. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family support within a school setting and some administrative experience. Basic knowledge of Safeguarding and Keeping Children Safe is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Attendance Monitoring:
Track and report student attendance daily.
Work closely with parents, teachers, and administration to address attendance issues.
Implement strategies to improve attendance rates.
Family Support:
Provide support and guidance to families, helping them to overcome barriers to their child’s education.
Assist families in accessing school and community resources.
Organize and conduct family support workshops and meetings.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with families, ensuring open communication.
Safeguarding:
Ensure compliance with all safeguarding and child protection policies.
Act as a point of contact for safeguarding concerns.
Attend relevant training and keep up-to-date with safeguarding legislation.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate records of attendance and family support activities.
Prepare reports and documentation as required.
Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
Extensive experience as a Family Support Worker within a school environment.
Basic administrative experience.
Knowledge of Safeguarding and Keeping Children Safe practices.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Compassionate and approachable with a strong commitment to supporting children and families.
