Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are working with a manufacturing business supplying globally based in East Riding, Yorkshire, who are looking for an efficient and driven Buyer to join their team for an exciting opportunity where they will have the chance to learn, develop their talent in an international growing business.
The role will be based at their head office in North Newbald, just outside of Beverley, East Yorkshire. With very limited public transport, the candidate must have their own transport.
As a Buyer, you will play a key role within the Supply Chain Department who will be responsible for the following areas
Duties
Working with 1st Tier Suppliers Day to Day located both Overseas and UK
Tier 2 supplier management (Both UK and Overseas)
Responsible for developing and managing supplier strategies alongside company projects ensuring maximum value is delivered
Placement of purchase orders in line with forecast and production requirements
Recognise the potential for cost downs through VA/VE projects meeting targets set
Ensure all pricing is accurate and up to date minimising discrepancies
Carry out vendor risk analysis alongside Quality KPI’s
Working with a supply base for procuring production and non-production materials
Liaison between Supplier and the company ensuring all agreements are met and adhered too
Introduce pricing files and mechanisms for control of costs with suppliers
Work with Tier 1, Tier 2 and Teir 3 suppliers ensuring the best commercial package is obtained through spend consolidation
Management of RFQ’s for both existing parts and new
Work with both existing and new suppliers to obtain best commercial package for product through NPI projects
Agree and implement pricing agreements with suppliers and monitor on a monthly basis
Work with the introduction of new suppliers to the business, agreeing best commercial terms in line with expectations
Help in the resolving of invoice queries between PO and Invoice alongside Supply Chain Assistant
Attend meetings where necessary to report on commercial related issues
Work with other stakeholders in the business with pricing and supplier commercial issues
Attend regular Supply Chain meetings
Develop effective relationships. Promote collaborative working. Interface internally with departments, internal stakeholders, Engineering, Sales, Stores, Warehouse & Finance etc as appropriate.
Skills/Experience
Min Bachelor’s Degree
Min 5 Years in Supply Chain and manufacturing environment
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong analytical skills
Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office (mainly Excel and Teams)
Resourceful and proactive attitude
Supplier Management Experience
Strong Negotiation Skills
Natural problem solver
Acute attention to detail
Driven and passionate about delivering a consistently high standard of service to the business
Hard Working and ability to manage time
Have own transport
Good organisational and interpersonal skills.
