The Group
BAO was founded by Shing and his wife Erchen and Shing’s Sister Wai Ting. Following a trip to Erchen’s homeland Taiwan, and having an mind bending experience when eating gua bao, the trio came back to London to perfect the bao recipe and kick-started BAO as a street food stall in East London in back 2013 to now 6 restaurants across Central London.

The Role
As the Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Beverage Department. The role requires a blend of leadership skills, Attention to detail and quality, Excellent guest service, smart approach to business finances, and a humble and hands-on approach in order to drive business success through the 6 P's (People, Product, Property, Promotion, Profit and Planet).
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Exceptional Service: Set the standard for outstanding guest interactions by being hands-on during peak hours and special events, while developing and upholding high service standards and best practices.
Develop and Empower Teams: Champion BAO values by fostering a positive and passionate workplace, ensuring compliance with HR processes, and driving communication, training, and recruitment efforts.
Champion Product Excellence: Advocate for Taiwanese beverage culture and quality by maintaining top-notch ingredient and recipe standards and innovating our beverage offerings in collaboration with founders.
Drive Financial Success: Influence key financial metrics such as labor, costs, and budgets, manage procurement systems, ensure efficient ordering, and utilize reporting tools for strategic decision-making.
Boost Sales and Engagement: Conduct industry research and competitive analysis, collaborate with sales and marketing for impactful promotions, and create initiatives to increase traffic and sales.
Ensure Operational Excellence: Ensure legal compliance and optimal design/layout of beverage areas, maintain cleanliness, organization, and equipment standards, and oversee ordering of necessary equipment and supplies.
