Procurement Support Lead
Our client are one of the UK'S leading M&E companies working throughout the utilities, commercial and industrial sectors. They help design, build, operate and maintain the M&E services for some of the country's largest infrastructure projects.
They are currently seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Procurement Support Lead. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to our procurement department, ensuring efficient operations and facilitating the procurement process. Your expertise in procurement practices, strong analytic skills, and ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers will be crucial in driving successful procurement activities.
Responsibilities:
Support Procurement Operations: Collaborate with the procurement team to coordinate and execute all aspects of the procurement process, including supplier identification, sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
Supplier Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, pre-qualification, on boarding new suppliers, evaluating supplier performance, and resolving any issues or disputes that arise.
Data Analysis: Analyse procurement data to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and risk mitigation.
Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations throughout the procurement process. Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and invoices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including finance, legal, and operations, to gather requirements, address procurement-related issues, and align procurement activities with overall organisational goals.
Functional Maintenance and transactional activities of their ERP system (Coins)
Requirements:
Experience: we would like experience in procurement, purchasing, supplier management, or supply chain management, with a demonstrated track record of success in a similar role.
Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse data, identify patterns, and draw meaningful insights to drive decision-making and process improvements. Used to pulling insights from data
Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
Detail-Oriented: Keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance in procurement processes and documentation.
Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently or as part of a team.
Proficient with Technology: Experience working with procurement systems and tools, as well as proficiency in using MS Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. If you have used Coins, even better.
Knowledge of Procurement Best Practices: Familiarity with procurement principles, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to proactively identify and address procurement challenges.
Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.The role is on going for minimum 6 months on a temporary contract based from any location in the UK.
