Buyer required for a reputable engineering & manufacturing company, employing over 500 staff across the world. This long-established organisation supplies a variety of industries with complex flow control products, including Valves, Pumps and Actuators.
This organisation recently decided to make significant investment (worth circa £1.8m) into their Leeds site, which will include a full overhaul of the workspace and facilities. Due to continued demand for their versatile product range, this organisation is recruiting for several positions including a Buyer.
This opportunity is based in LEEDS, meaning the successful Buyer will be easily able to commute from surrounding areas including Bradford, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Dewsbury and Bingley.
Key Responsibilities of the Buyer will include;
Develop the companies existing network of preferred suppliers and sub-contractors
Monitor suppliers performance (quality, price and delivery)
Negotiate best prices
Maintain an up-to-date and accurate supplier price list
Attend internal and external supplier meetings
Assist departmental delivery targets by providing regular input in Production meetingsFor the role of Buyer, we are keen to receive applications from individuals who have;
Previous experience as a Buyer within a Manufacturing or Engineering environment.
Strong technical knowledge of Engineering components
Experience negotiating with suppliers
Strong knowledge of ERP systems such as Epicor
Computer skills including Microsoft office applicationsSalary & Benefits;
£32,500 per annum
30 Days annual leave
8% Combined pension (3% employer/ 5% employee)
Company Sick Pay after 12 months employment
