Job Title: 2nd Line Service Desk Technician

We are seeking an experienced Service Desk Technician to join the clients dynamic team in Southampton. This full-time, onsite role involves supporting colleagues with 1st and 2nd line tickets. Strong customer service skills are essential, as you will be assisting non-technical colleagues. Each day offers new challenges, requiring a proactive attitude and a passion for troubleshooting and resolving IT issues.
Role Responsibilities:
Provide 1st and 2nd line Service Desk support utilising ITIL Foundations.
Ensure all tickets comply with agreed SLAs.
Offer support, advice, and training on software and hardware, emphasising cyber security awareness.
Deploy new hardware to end users, ensuring proper software packages are installed and set up for immediate use.
Maintain and monitor the company's backup and recovery procedures.
Required Skills:
Experience in an IT Service Desk position.
Proven ability to provide quick, first-time fixes for 1st and 2nd line support tickets.
Ability to work within agreed SLAs.
Proficiency with Office 365 and Active Directory.
Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to translate technical terminology for non-technical colleagues.
Capability to work effectively in a busy office environment, under pressure, and a keen interest in adopting new technologies.
A degree, CompTIA A+, or similar qualifications are desirable.
Salary & Benefits:
Up to £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Shift Pattern & Location:
Monday - Friday, with participation in an on-call rota.
