About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Site Engineer to join our team, working on our Overhead Lines contracts throughout Scotland.
You will work alongside our experienced engineers to build upon the skills and knowledge you have gained during your university studies. You will get the opportunity to be involved in a broad range of engineering activities, with increasing responsibility as you develop your technical skills and experience.
As a Graduate Site Engineer, what kind of activities will I be involved in?
Promoting safety, health, and environmental initiatives throughout all projects within Transmission Networks
Undertaking training as required in order to learn the principles of 400/275/132kV overhead line construction & design.
Gaining an appreciation of the planning, preparation, and Implementation aspects of overhead line work
Actively promoting the reporting of Safety Observation Reports. (SORS)
Assisting with undertaking monitoring and inspections in accordance with the site Safety Management System audit schedule to ensure all team are working to required Work Instructions
Assisting with the monitoring of work quality throughout and participate in climbing inspections when trained to do so, in line with the Site Quality Plan
Reporting and providing feedback to the Site Management team of any quality and environmental related issues
Contact point for correspondence and meetings with third parties e.g., surveys, design, environmental consultants, utilities, services, etc
Attending daily progress meeting and ensuring that all information is communicated to the appropriate ‘Task allocator’
Supervising of sub-contractors as requested and when trained to do so
Attending weekly safety dial in meeting
Complying with and contributing to the effective implementation of the current health and safety, quality, and environmental policies
Maintaining excellent levels of communication throughout the team and the wider business
Ensuring Morrison Energy Services (Transmission Networks) and the Clients standards are met/exceeded to at all times
Location / Working pattern
One of the exciting aspects of this role, is the opportunity to work across multiple projects throughout Scotland. This means that you would need to be flexible in terms of location and be willing to stay away from home. The general working pattern is a ‘One-on’ - ‘One-off’ basis (working one weekend on and then one weekend off). Where individuals are required to stay away from home, a lodging allowance is given. The role also comes with a company car

Skills & Knowledge Requirements
BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (or other related Engineering or Maths based degree).
UK driving licence.
