Job Description:
As a Senior IT Technician, you will play a pivotal role in managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, ensuring the seamless operation of all technology systems across the institution. You will work closely with the IT team, faculty, and students to provide exceptional technical support and solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain the institution's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and systems.
Provide expert technical support to staff and students, resolving IT issues promptly.
Implement and maintain security protocols, including Palo Alto firewalls, to protect data and systems.
Conduct regular system audits and performance monitoring to ensure optimal operation.
Assist in the planning and execution of IT projects, including system upgrades and new technology implementations.
Collaborate with vendors and external partners to support and enhance the IT environment.
Provide training and guidance to junior IT staff and end-users on best practices and new technologies.
Ensure compliance with relevant IT policies, regulations, and standards.Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Senior IT Technician or similar role, preferably in an educational environment.
Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and operating systems.
Expertise in managing and configuring Palo Alto firewalls.
Proficient in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Familiarity with cloud services and platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS).
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Palo Alto certifications) are a plus.Benefits:
