Works Manager
Cardiff
£60K - £80K plus package
Role Purpose:
The role of the Works Manager is to co-ordinate operations and oversee the workforce at the projects site. The role holder is the point of reference for both workers and supervisors on site and will play a key part in ensuring the project is completed to a high industry standard, complying with health and safety and all other legal regulations.
Role Responsibilities:

Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality sustainability policies and legislation/ requirements are adhered to.

Attend to coordination meetings with manager and site supervisor from subcontractors.

Organise, coordinate, and supervise site supervisors’ tasks.
-
Coordinate and supervise deliveries on site.
-
Check drawings and construction details.
-
Coordinate tasks according to project priorities and plans.
-
Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew and ensure staffing and resources are adequate.

Allocate general and daily responsibilities whilst supervising and directing workers and tradespeople.

Plan and review the overall status of the project on an ongoing basis.

Ensure all works are carried out in line with approved method statements.

Lead by example as a role model for company values and professional standards.

Manage the workflow of sub-contractors ensuring they’re in line with the programme of works on site.

Drive continuous improvement within areas of own responsibility

Additional duties associated with the role as determined by management.
Essential Criteria:
- 10 years experience in a similar role
In addition to the above:

Computer literate and familiar with MS office, project, (or similar scheduling package)

Excellent verbal, oral, and written communication skills
-
Ability to manage conflicting demands, assess priorities, proactively plan the works to ensure timely delivery of project requirements

Experience in problem solving and decision making in a construction environment

Commercial awareness – an ability to understand how actions/ decisions can affect profitability of a project

Proven team working and communication skills
-
Advanced technical ability
-
Outstanding attention to detail and demonstrable ability to meet deadlines.
