Management Accountant (6 month FTC), Salary £35-45k. Based in Stockton-on-Tees with flexibility around hybrid working.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join a global and an industry leading business in the construction sector.
We are keen to hear from candidates from a Management Accountant / Assistant Accountant role with fixed asset experience. CIMA / ACCA Qualified or Part-Qualified advantageous but not essential.
Management Accountant – the role:
The Management Accountant will provide management reporting to the business including month end journal processing, management accounts reviews with analytical support. There is a particular focus on Fixed Assets reviews as part of wider Balance Sheet reviews for this role.
In depth review of Fixed Asset balances working closely with the Senior Management Accountant highlighting and recommending resolution to unreconciled balances
Review of other areas of the Balance Sheet highlighting and recommending resolution to unreconciled balances
Responsible for month end journals posted to ledgers in line with the month end timetable
Completion of Fixed Asset balance sheet reconciliations providing appropriate commentary and analysis to support the understanding of balances and key movements in the accounts
Drive standard processes through principles of simplification, standardisation and automation where appropriate
Identification and reporting of key risks and opportunities to Senior Management Accountant and Financial Controller to aid decision making
Prepare audit and tax schedules and provide explanations to audit requests
Ensure all processes are SOX compliant
Candidate requirements:
Experience in a similar Management Accountant / Assistant Accountant role.
Analytical with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
Fixed Asset Accountuing Experience
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
Part-Qualified ACCA/CIMA advantageous but not essential
