(Energy Central Learning Hub)
THE COMPANY
Energy Central Campus (ECC) is a unique partnership between the Port of Blyth, Northumberland County Council and the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, with a mission to create the pipeline of talent required for the expanding clean energy sector, at the same time, inspiring, training and delivering routes to employment for the local community. It is a business-led initiative in the heart of one of the UK’s largest clean energy clusters, providing a clear understanding of the skills and training needs of the sector. ECC will allow the voice of industry to shape training provisions to ensure the development of the high-quality clean energy sector workforce of the future.
ECC will deliver this vision over two phases: ECC Phase 1 - Energy Central Learning Hub (ECLH) - A new STEM education and vocational training facility, developing energy sector skills and aspirations among young people at school and college, and adults re-training for new roles. Based at the Port of Blyth, learners will develop skills in a real-world clean energy port environment.
ECC Phase 2 - Energy Central Institute -A new higher-level skills and innovation facility, developing energy sector expertise at degree and PhD levels. Creating a focal point for collaboration between energy businesses, OREC, and Northeast universities, it will develop higher-level skills and technological innovations to keep the region at the forefront of clean energy sector growth.
THE ROLE
We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to contribute to the efficient operation of the ECLH. In this role, you will help maintain the building's appearance and functionality, assisting with preparation for conferences, including setting up assisting with audio-visual equipment.
Additionally, you will play a key role in the Hub’s STEM engagement activities, aiding in the preparation and supporting the delivery of the initiatives to children and young people.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with audio visual set up for conferencing and meetings.

Ensure audio visual and associated systems are operational and carry out routine maintenance tasks where appropriate.

To undertake porterage tasks as required, including furniture layout of conference and STEM teaching area layouts as directed.

Support Operations Manager and visitors in STEM activities, maintain inventory of supplies as well as set up and take down of practical sessions.

Assist in the development of STEM activities with the Operations Manager.

STEM apparatus retrieval and cleaning after use.

General building maintenance – lighting, decoration, signage, reporting and audit.

Respond to emergencies such as spills or blocked facilities.

To ensure that external areas are free from debris and litter, including external drains.

To be responsible for ensuring clear and safe pedestrian access to the school, particularly in adverse weather conditions (e.g. snow clearing, gritting).

Maintain stock of building maintenance items, included in inventory.

Report all building emergencies to Operations Manager, liaise directly with Technical services for minor faults.

Adhere to ECC safety policies to create a safe working environment for everyone.

REMUNERATION & BENEFITS
• Up to £25K per annum depending on experience for 37.5 hours per week
• Defined contribution pension scheme
• 33 days holiday (inclusive of 8 statutory days)
