Industry Sector: Plumbing and Heating Merchants, Plumbers Merchants, Builders Merchants, Hardware Stores and Buying Groups, Soil & Waste, Rainwater Harvesting, Above Ground Drainage, Below Ground Drainage, Ventilation, Heating, Hot & Cold water, Commercial Boilers, Heat Pumps, Biomass, Renewable, HVAC, M&E, Mechanical Engineers and other plumbing and heating systems
Area to be covered: North East, Yorkshire and East Midlands
Based: North East & Yorkshire
Remuneration: £45,000-£50,000 Neg. + 15% Bonus per quarter!

The role of the Area Sales Manager Plumbing & Heating will involve:

Field sales position, selling our clients distributed range (75%) and own brand range (25% of plumbing and heating supplies to plumbers merchants , builders merchants, hardware stores and buying groups

80% account management, 20% new business development position

Responsible for circa top 200 live accounts (typically ranging from £5,000-£100,000 turnover)

Revenue responsibility circa £2m-£2.5m

Circa 18-20 customer appointments per week

Attending trade mornings
-
Offering recommendations for new products lines and managing the area through rigorous business planning

Identifying purchase decision makers and arrange and attend sales visits

Building relationships with both existing and prospective clients

The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager Plumbing & Heating with:

A proven field sales track record in the plumbing & heating industry
-
Either successfully selling to plumbers merchants or may consider someone working for a plumbers merchant in a field sales capacity

Account management/ relationship building skills

Entrepreneurial attitude

Comfortable with IT systems and CRM reporting

Friendly, assertive, independent, quick paced and able to work on own initiative

Persuasive with ability to sell concepts and ideas by gaining commitment and willing acceptance
