Manufacturing and support services business within the defence and security sector require a Logistics & Supply Chain Coordinator. Applicants need experience within a logistics, warehouse, despatch or shipping orientated role.
Specific duties of the Logistics & Supply Chain Coordinator include:
Organise the movement of Airfreight, Sea Freight, Road, and Courier shipments for current and future Projects.
Coordinate with the Warehouse Coordinator to ensure that goods receiving, defect handling, picking & packing, dispatch, and hazardous packaging are managed effectively in the OQ Warehouse.
Analyse and summarise Supplier performance data in line with established metric requirements for the Supply Chain function.
Ensure all relevant export documentation, including packing lists and shipping invoices, are correctly raised.
Liaise with freight forwarders to obtain quotations for packing and transport activities worldwide.
Negotiate with new & existing freight forwarders to secure the best quality and value for money.
Maintain communication with project managers to ensure shipping and transport activities meet project-specific contracts and programmes.
Raise requisitions and Purchase Orders for logistical needs.
Assist in maintaining accurate Stock Inventory on Costpoint.
Lead on the procedure to regain Known Consignor status.
Improve the efficiency of the department to ensure materials arrive in good condition, on time, and presented correctly.
Logistics & Supply Chain Coordinator applicants should meet the following criteria:
Experience within a logistics, shipping, warehouse or despatch environment
Freight Forwarder liaison experience
Knowledge of import, export and shipping processes
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
Strong time management skills and the ability to solve problems and make decisions
