Summary:
We are currently seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Finance Clerk to join our finance team. As a Finance Clerk, you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the company by efficiently handling various tasks related to invoicing, supplier accounts, payments, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Processing Invoices:
Receive, verify, and process supplier invoices promptly and accurately.
Match invoices to purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies.
Setting up New Supplier Accounts:
Gather necessary documentation and information to set up new supplier accounts in compliance with company policies.
Assist with Payment Runs:
Collaborate with the finance team to prepare and execute payment runs within established timelines.
Ensure all payments are accurate and properly authorized.
Supplier Statement Reconciliations:
Conduct regular reconciliations of supplier statements to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
Dealing with Supplier Queries:
Act as a point of contact for supplier inquiries and address any issues or concerns professionally and promptly.
General Ledger:
Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate financial data.
Assist with data entry and journal entries as required.
Involvement in Business and Revenue:
Work closely with the finance team to analyse and report on business and revenue-related financial data.
Collaborate on financial forecasting and budgeting processes.
Financial Statements:
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
VAT Returns:
Prepare and file VAT returns in compliance with applicable regulations and deadlines.
Month-End Close:
Participate in the month-end closing process, ensuring all financial activities are properly recorded and accounted for.
Key Skills:
Bookkeeping experience
Knowledge of accounting system is desirable.
Excellent communication skills including on the phone and by email.
Self-motivated and resilient with excellent organisational skills
Hardworking, flexible and reliable with good attention to detail
Experience using Microsoft Excel is essential.
Strong mathematical skills
