SERVICE ENGINEER (MIDLANDS) - PERMANENT POSITION

Salary: Up to £36,750 + Overtime
Hawk 3 Talent Solutions, operating as an employment agency, are currently recruiting for a Service Engineer within the Midlands on a permanent contract.
The successful candidate will work closely with an Exeter based Service Team to be responsible for the completion of warranty and annual service work for Gas, Electric and Solid Fuel heating appliances to include diagnostic faults and repair appliances in a timely and cost-effective manner.
You will also be required to carry out the maintenance of the companies appliances within the dealer's showroom and completing chargeable annual servicing and repair work for customers with the aim to retain the customers servicing requirements for the next year.
Although the role will cover a pre-determined area, travel to most areas of the UK will be necessary and will involve being away from home for up to 4 nights each week. The role will provide a fully equipped van, laptop/iPad and phone.
Duties & responsibilities:
Ensure all service and warranty calls are carried out professionally, timely and accurately - ensuring all issues are properly and fully resolved during the first visit
Correctly identify reasons for the reported issues and determine whether that issue falls within company manufacturing fault or an installation / user fault
Up sell chargeable service work whilst on site and take payment using supplied payment terminals
Document and report on all calls and problems identified in the field to the technical department in an accurate and timely manner
Ensure the end users safety in accordance with all relevant regulations for installation and use
Issue any safety notices if required and to inform relevant personnel
Ensure faulty parts are returned adequately labelled for testing
Ensuring the vehicle supplied is kept clean and tidy
About you:
Proven experience of working with heating appliances or servicing comparable equipment in the field
Full driving license
Good verbal communication skills
Customer focused with excellent customer service skills
Confident in discussing payment required with customers face to face
Proactive approach in keeping records up to date
Knowledge of software including email and Word
Flexible to carry out a wide ranging role that will vary across the year
The Service Engineers are required to have and maintain the following training certificates to carry out the work:
CCN1 ( Domestic Core Gas Safety) , HTR1 ( Gas Fires & Wall Heaters) , CONGLP1 (LPG Changeover)
CPA1 - Combustion Analysis
GAS SAFE requirements (OFTEC also an advantage)
