Speed Detection Officer
Location: Exeter
Salary: Grade 5 - Starts at £27,789 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £29,874 per annum
Type of working arrangement: Static-Worker - A Static-Worker has little or no opportunity to work remotely as they need to carry out their work at a specific force premises, this could be for a number of reasons including the location of equipment.
Hours per week: this role is 37 hours per week. However they welcome applications from individuals wishing to work on a part-time basis and are willing to consider flexible working patterns subject to business need.
Our client has an exciting opportunity to join their team of Speed Detection Officers who take part in their ambition to meet Vision Zero South West targets.
The Role
No prior experience is necessary to join. You will be supported and provided training to ensure you are both competent and confident to carry out your role before you begin independent working.
Whilst part of a close team, the majority of your work will be completed independently, and you will have access and responsibility to drive their liveried vehicles. Speed enforcement activity can be completed from inside a van or on foot at the roadside at risk-assessed locations. You will also support Community Speedwatch volunteers and work closely with the areas police Community Speedwatch Scheme Manager and Administrator.
As part of your continual professional development, you will work towards advanced accreditation providing qualification to teach police officers, special constables and Community Speedwatch volunteers in speed enforcement.
