Overview
Everest People Solutions are recruiting for a Group Operations Technical Manager for a large food processor based in County Tyrone. As Group Operations Technical Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Technical and Quality functions. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will also be responsible for implementing strategic projects as required by the Board. You will be the main point of contact for all internal and external communications related to technical and quality matters. Your primary objective is to ensure that all sites comply with food safety, legal, and quality requirements.
Key Duties & Responsibilities for the Group Technical Manager
- Ensure all sites comply with the latest legislative, third-party, and customer requirements.
- Manage the Group Technical & Quality team to meet business needs from a technical and quality perspective.
- Serve as the main point of contact for all technical and quality-related matters, both internally and externally.
- Support sites to achieve and maintain the highest possible grades in internal and external audits.
- Report performance against both internal and external KPIs.
- Act as an integral part of the senior management team, contributing to the formulation and implementation of Group strategy.
- Ensure the implementation and adherence to strategic requirements.
- Embed a continuous improvement ethos within the technical and quality department.
- Liaise with necessary competent authorities in Great Britain, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland.
- The role involves extensive travel throughout the Group and customer base.
Requirements for the Group Technical Manager
- Demonstrate dynamism and flexibility, with strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Exhibit natural leadership, analytical thinking, resource management abilities, and the capacity to work effectively under pressure.
- Possess a detailed understanding of critical success factors in a fast-paced business environment.
- Have at least 5 years of experience in a senior technical role, preferably within the meat sector
