Owner managed, manufacturing business based in County Durham are expanding their management team and are looking to appoint their next Production Manager. The business has had significant investment, changing locations to an expansive facility which is bright and modern.
Job Description:
The postholder will be supporting Operations Director, leading the production team to meet targets while maintaining a high level of quality control and safety standards. Manage production staff, including training, coaching, and mentoring to ensure a high level of performance and productivity and monitor production performance and implement corrective actions as necessary to meet production targets and maintain quality standards.
Collaborate with other departments including engineering, quality control, and supply chain, to ensure that production goals are aligned with overall business objectives and develop and implement process improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
Create and maintain production documentation, including standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Manage inventory levels and ensure that production is aligned with demand.
Provide regular reports on production performance to senior management.
Undertake 1 to 1’s ensuring all Team Leaders fully understand their roles and are able to deliver the goals set for them.
Skills & experience:

A successful proven track record from production and people management.

Experience of working with wood materials would be a huge advantage

Strong leadership and team management skills

Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities

Proficiency in production planning and scheduling tools, and other manufacturing software tools

Experience of working in a fast paced, rapidly growing business

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is an advantage
