BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR (ENERGY CENTRAL LEARNING HUB)
THE COMPANY
Energy Central Campus (ECC) is a unique partnership between the Port of Blyth, Northumberland County Council and the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, with a mission to create the pipeline of talent required for the expanding clean energy sector, at the same time, inspiring, training and delivering routes to employment for the local community. It is a business-led initiative in the heart of one of the UK’s largest clean energy clusters, providing a clear understanding of the skills and training needs of the sector. ECC will allow the voice of industry to shape training provisions to ensure the development of the high-quality clean energy sector workforce of the future.
ECC will deliver this vision over two phases: ECC Phase 1 - Energy Central Learning Hub (ECLH) - A new STEM education and vocational training facility, developing energy sector skills and aspirations among young people at school and college, and adults re-training for new roles. Based at the Port of Blyth, learners will develop skills in a real-world clean energy port environment.
ECC Phase 2 - Energy Central Institute -A new higher-level skills and innovation facility, developing energy sector expertise at degree and PhD levels. Creating a focal point for collaboration between energy businesses, OREC, and Northeast universities, it will develop higher-level skills and technological innovations to keep the region at the forefront of clean energy sector growth.
THE ROLE
This is an excellent opportunity for a friendly and dedicated individual to be first point of contact for ECLH, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a professional and welcoming environment to our new purpose build building.
With excellent communication and organisational skills, you will undertake a variety of administrative tasks, oversee and assist with greeting visitors, manage calls and correspondence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide general administrative tasks such as processing information, creation & collation of documents.
- Manage the ECLH central inbox, responding to or escalating emails as appropriate.
- Support with the coordination of STEM activities
- Maintain information systems such as filing and records management
- Maintain the ECLH room and conference centre booking system
- Provide line management and support to a Business Administration Apprentice.
- Work with staff and partners to support and assist in goods deliveries and receipting.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- A friendly, supportive can-do attitude.
- Great Team working skills
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- A proven track record of successful work experience in an administrative post
- Experience maintaining computerised and manual administrative systems.
- Effective organisational skills e.g. meeting deadlines, information gathering , time management and good record keeping.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
DESIRABLE
- Completed the Business Administration Apprenticeship or managing/supporting an Apprentice
REMUNERATION & BENEFITS
- £23k to £23.5k per annum depending on experience for 37.5 hours per week
- Defined contribution pension scheme
- 33 days holiday (inclusive of 8 statutory days)
