Job Description: Head of SHEQ
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership:
Provide strategic leadership and vision in SHEQ for global operations, ensuring compliance in all areas.
Drive employee engagement on health, safety, environment, and quality matters, ensuring legal compliance, maintaining certifications, and promoting best practices.
Develop and use metrics to measure and drive improvement, setting KPIs for the SHEQ team and presenting progress to the Executive Team. Compliance and Certification:
Develop, review, and update safety, health, environmental, and quality strategies, policies, procedures, and documentation.
Ensure compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001 standards, as well as relevant regional legislation.
Lead the certification process for ISO9001 (compliant), ISO14001 (applying), and ISO45001 (applying) standards, including all audits. Incident Management and Audits:
Manage and lead all incident investigations, ensuring quality reports and timely completion.
Monitor the effectiveness of reports, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
Lead an effective inspection and internal audit plan, monitoring trends and compliance, and taking appropriate action where necessary.
Team Leadership:
Provide direct leadership to the SHEQ team.
Maintain and publish a calendar of key safety activities and regulatory inspection dates.
Develop, monitor, and report on annual budgets for SHEQ.
Provide input into prequalification and tender submissions.
Prepare regular reports on operational SHEQ performance.
Prepare and present at client forums. Role Requirements:
NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent) Level 6 in Occupational Safety and Health.
ISO Internal Auditor certification (desirable).
10 years of experience in an operational SHEQ role, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior SHEQ role.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of applicable ISO and/or OSHA standards.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
Proven analytical, planning, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Benefits:
