Technical Sales Engineer (engineering background)
Remuneration: £34,000 - £40,000 + company benefits + commission
Location: Birmingham, office based with occasional client visits
We are seeking a proactive Technical Sales Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves generating new leads, managing customer enquiries, and supporting the sales department. The ideal candidate will work closely with the senior management team and technical sales engineers to ensure a high standard of customer service and maximise profitable sales.
Technical Sales Engineer Key Responsibilities:

Proactively generate new leads through various channels including telephone, email, and web enquiries.

Deal with inbound enquiries and try and convert those inbound enquiries into solid leads and orders.

Maintain and strengthen relationships with current and previous customers.

Regularly update the CRM system in line with company practices and procedures.

Provide essential support to the sales department by handling inbound enquiries, ensuring a timely and professional response.

Prepare and send quotations with guidance from the senior management team.

Follow up on quotations to drive sales to conclusion.

Assist in managing and administering inbound/enquiry pipeline.

Handle administration related to queries and orders.
Technical Sales Engineer Qualifications and Skills:

Degree qualified or equivalent engineering experience.

Proven experience in a technical sales role, with knowledge and experience of taking inbound enquiries and warm leads and converting them into valid sales orders.

Strong ability to generate leads and manage customer relationships.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Proficient in CRM systems and sales management tools.

Ability to prepare and follow up on quotations.

Strong organisational and project management skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently when required.

Willingness to travel to customer sites when required.

Proactive and self-motivated with a drive to achieve results.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
