Mechanical Engine Development Engineer
Peterborough Hybrid Working – 3 days on site 2 remote.

Our client, a major Engine OEM, is entering a period of significant investment within NPI Engine work – with this comes an opportunity to develop Engines which will need to meet the ever changing energy and power generation landscape.
So if you have an Engine background and are looking for a role which is diving in to new technologies, and will challenge existing programmes, you need to work with our customer.
This assignment is based on a hybrid work pattern, there will be opportunities to work from home on a regular basis, but our clients are keen for onsite collaboration too. It’s not often you get the opportunity to work in an environment where the whole lifecycle of an engine is operating under one roof.
What will you be doing?

Execution of Core Engine System validation activities
-
New product development technical issue resolution.

Conducting FMEA on components and systems

Plan and execute validation tests.

Conducting component and system design reviews
-
Support resolution to production, test and field issues, diagnose issues to root cause
-
Work with suppliers and keep stakeholders informed of progress and decisions
To be considered please ensure your CV reflects:

Technical background (HNC or technical degree preferred in mechanical or automotive engineering) though other qualifications or experience are equally valued

Knowledge in a minimum of one or more of the following Core Engine systems:
-
Rotating Systems
-
Valvetrain
-
Castings
-
Lubrication
-
Breather and Cooling systems
-
Bolted joint and sealing experience
-
Development experience of mechanical components and systems, including both rig and complete system testing.
