The Opportunity:
To be based at their family feel Enfield office, you will be a key function in assisting the Head of Finance, Buyer and Payroll Manager looking to grow and expand the team, due to positive company growth.
This Accounts or Finance Assistant role will be involved with Purchase Ledger, Credit Control and invoicing duties - onsite - reporting into Finance Director.
This role will ideally suit an Accounts or Finance Graduate/ Trainee OR Accounts Assistant with minimum 2 years (hands on) construction experience seeking a permanent role in a small team, with excellent communication skills and a professional approach to their work.
If Trainee/ Graduate level - FULL TRAINING AND SUPPORT WILL BE PROVIDED!!
Core Responsibilities:
Enter Purchase and sales invoices into the financial systems accurately and timely.
Process sub-contractor invoices/queries and verification
Ensuring adequate insurance is held for all sub-contractors
Analysing operative timesheets and submitting onto labour portal.
Reviewing and posting of credit card expenses monthly
Reviewing and posting of personal expenses monthly
Filing of invoices, timesheets and other paperwork as required.
Assist with accounts payable processes, including P&L, invoice processing and payment reconciliation
Daily bank reconciliation
Support the finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned
Quarterly Vat returns
Monthly Payroll processing
Answering telephone calls and monitor accounts inbox for invoices and ad hoc emails.
Any other ad-hoc administrative and accounts duties, when required.
Candidate Requirements:
Minimum of 2+ years solid experience as an Accounts Assistant (Ideal)
Experience of payroll, CIS/ VAT subcontractor payments, purchase ledger, invoice processing and labour timesheets processing is preferred.
IT literate with good Excel skills.
Sage 50/ Sage Payroll experience ideal, not essential.
Accounts/ Finance Assistant with experience working for a UK-based construction business ideal, though not essential.
Be professional, willing to work onsite and a team player - as you'll be working in a small, closely-knit team.
Be capable & happy to commute into Enfield office (Monday – Friday)
Be an excellent communicator, for not only internal interaction with finance / non-finance but also when answering telephone / email queries and assisting with other areas of finance as and when requested by senior management.
