About the Role
Brook Street are looking to recruit a Funding Officer for our government client on a temporary contract.
Location: Swindon (Hybrid working)
Pay rate: £13.15 per hour
Contract Length: Until the end of February 2024
The Funding Officer role is a fundamentally administrative one, tasked with the operational delivery of funding opportunities. The core purpose of the role can be summarised as follows:
Funding Officer - assists with the end-to-end co-ordination of funding opportunities, taking responsibility for checking applications for eligibility, selecting appropriate expert-reviewers, checking submitted reviews, and generally ensuring that grant applications and expert-reviews move through the process in an efficient and timely manner. The role is expected to work with and provide regular updates to Operations Managers and work closely with researchers and expert reviewers, providing advice and guidance where needed.
More generally we would expect Funding Officers to engage with the following tasks and responsibilities from time to time:
" Support the grant lifecycle from end to end
" Engage directly with applicants to provide answers to policy and process
queries and liaise with the communications team to help publicise funding opportunities where relevant
" Engage with and support improvement activities seeking to refine processes, policy and ways of working within the Operations team and the wider organisation
Shortlisting and Interview Criteria
" You have excellent organisational and administrative skills, with a good attention to detail and accuracy
" You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can adapt these appropriate to the audience
" You have excellent interpersonal skills, working effectively with colleagues at different levels both inside and outside the organisation
" You have sound numeric skills, including handling data sensitively, accurately, and responsibly
" You can work independently, using your own initiative to solve problems, and make effective decisions within frameworks
" You are a strong and positive team worker with the ability to work across a variety of tasks, providing support to colleagues where appropriate
" You possess a good working knowledge of IT (preferably MS packages) and are comfortable learning new software or systems
