Frontline Recruitment Weymouth are seeking a Production Operative to join our client based outside of Dorchester.
Operative – Band B / Department - All Production and Warehouse Areas / Responsible to Line Leader.
Purpose: To operate and monitor production equipment as per the company’s standard operating procedures (SOP’s) to achieve product that is within internal and external specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating and monitoring production equipment safely
- Bagging and sealing products and checking for foreign body contaminants.
- Undertaking manual handling tasks including hand stacking product/packing into boxes and onto pallets, manual dairy tasks and using pallet trucks.
- Taking on some responsibility for helping organise work areas of the production lines and setting up machinery where training permits to help production run efficiently.
- Working within all company policies and procedures, including Health & Safety and Food Safety Standards
- Use business systems such as NAV and QIS (But not exclusively) to accurately manage/record the movement of all forms of stock (including but not limited to finished/semi-finished goods, packaging, ingredients).
- Using safe working practices and relevant documentation to carry out tasks relevant to the area such as loading and unloading lorries using electric pallet movers or forklift trucks.
- To carry out any other work or task determined to be within your level of competence, to meet the needs of the business.
- Working within all company policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Food Safety, Authenticity, Legality and Quality Standards.
Training/Qualifications:
Essential:
•Functional (Basic) Maths – Level 2
• Functional English Skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) – Level 2)
• Manual Handling
• Food Hygiene – Level 2.
• Basic computer skills
• Forklift Certificate (relevant to area of work)
Desirable:
•Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment
• Awareness of continuous improvement
• Able to work in a role that has physical demands

Remuneration & Benefits
Rate of pay - £12.48per hour.
Contractual Hours – January – June 42.5 / July – December 45 per week (Monday to Friday).
Holiday entitlement – 30 days per annum (including Public & Bank Holidays in England & Wales) rising to 31 days after attaining 10 years continuous service.
Pension – 5% Employee/5% Employer contribution.
Life Assurance – 2 x annual salary (after completion of 3 months service)
