COFFEE SHOP CHEF/COOK OR MANAGER
Who we are looking for
We are looking for an experienced Coffee Shop/Café Chef, cook or manager.
Someone with a flair for food, a love of people, and a sound knowledge of - and experience with - food legislation hygiene and safety.
Someone who is organised, hard-working and able to work under pressure, as part of a team but also able to take responsibility for the efficient running of the business.
A ‘foodie’ – someone with a passion for food, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for preparing and presenting a range of delicious dishes, from the ‘standard fare’ breakfast items to light lunches and pastries. Many of our customers have special requests so we know we need someone who can pay special attention to dietary restrictions and food allergies and accommodate special requests whenever possible.
Necessary experience:

Experience of food preparation and service

A good understanding and experience of cooking with allergens

A positive outlook and ability to manage a small team collaboratively.

A strong record of good timekeeping and ability to be on your feet for long periods of time.
About the role
Type: Permanent
Location: Horsley, Surrey
Hours: 7am to 2pm Monday to Friday and alternate Saturdays
Salary: Negotiable
Most of our customers are loyal regulars. We’re looking for someone who can cater for the existing needs of our customer base (breakfast, lunch, cakes and treats plus great coffee), fulfil the special requests (lots of gluten-free, veggie, and allergens to cater for) and help us to expand the menu and the business…
We would love a talented gluten-free caterer / cook to focus on and expand our offer for GF in particular.
There’s room to collaborate with management and other team members to develop and update the menu with seasonal offerings and new dishes, suggesting creative ideas and innovations to enhance the coffee shop's food offerings and cater to customer preferences.
We are a small business – so it’s absolutely vital that we find someone who can work well with the team to maintain a positive and friendly environment for both staff and customers. It’s also important to us that you have a really strong track record for turning up “on time, every time”. We also know we need someone with relevant experience who is able to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards. Other duties include monitoring inventory, placing orders and controlling overall quality.
