Finance Assistant

Role Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance Assistant to join our team. The Finance Assistant will support the finance department in day-to-day financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all operations. This role requires experience working with multiple currencies, including dollars, euros, and pounds. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Assistant will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations for currency accounts.
- Assist with stock records and reports.
- Input approved staff expenses.
- Prepare weekly payment runs and EU/UK VAT returns.
- Reconcile monthly sales invoices and maintain fixed asset register.
- Perform financial due diligence on new suppliers and review outstanding POs.
- Maintain prepayment schedules and manage product swap transactions.
- Prepare accruals schedules and reconcile P&L and balance sheet.
- Allocate product supplier and ancillary invoices.
- Prepare weekly commercial reports and variance analysis.
- Conduct financial analysis and assist in forecasting.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
- Support the finance team in various administrative tasks as required.
Experience We Are Seeking:
- Previous experience as a Finance Assistant.
- Experience working with multiple currencies (dollars, euros, pounds).
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and work independently.
- Strong communication skills for effective liaison with stakeholders.
- Professional demeanor, able to handle conflict and pressure.
- Proficiency in databases, Excel (intermediate), Word, and Sage accounts.
- Positive attitude towards acquiring new skills and knowledge.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in a high-performing finance team.
- Experience using Sage 50, Navision, Excel, and Word.
- AAT Qualification.
