We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Science Teacher to join our team on a temp-to-perm basis starting in September.
Job Description:
As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated science lessons to secondary-aged students with SEMH needs. You will work closely with our dedicated staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment tailored to the individual needs of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver a science curriculum that is accessible and engaging for students with SEMH needs.
Create and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
Work collaboratively with other teachers, support staff, and specialists to support student learning and well-being.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEMH education and science teaching.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Experience working with secondary-aged students, preferably those with SEMH needs.
Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs.
