Job Summary:*
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook/Chef to join our team at . Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and cook meals in accordance with the dietary requirements and preferences of residents.
- Develop and implement a rotating menu that includes a variety of nutritious and appetizing dishes, while accommodating specific dietary needs.
- Ensure all food is prepared and stored according to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to minimize waste and ensure the availability of fresh ingredients.
- Engage with residents to understand their dietary preferences and feedback, and adjust menus accordingly.
- Work closely with the care team to ensure meal times align with the daily schedule and that residents’ nutritional needs are met.
- Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, including food safety standards and care home policies.
- Assist in training kitchen staff on food preparation, safety, and hygiene standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a cook or chef, preferably in a care home or healthcare setting.
- Food safety and hygiene certification.
- Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Ability to develop and execute menus that meet nutritional standards.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents and staff.
- Understanding of dietary requirements and restrictions specific to elderly residents.
