Assistant Design Manager Opportunity in Crewe, Cheshire

The Company:
An expanding Main Contractor with a stellar industry reputation is seeking to enhance its Design Management team. With a robust pipeline of live and upcoming projects, this company primarily operates in the Industrial/Commercial sector, delivering projects valued between £8m-£25m.
The Role:
This position is ideal for an experienced Architectural Technician, Design Co-ordinator, or CAD Technician with a background in Structural Steel or Cladding, looking to transition into Design Management.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Design Manager in overseeing the design process during the construction phase, ensuring all designs meet the highest standards, budget, and timelines.

Monitor information release schedules and report on RFI statuses.

Review design submissions for quality and completeness.

Coordinate design information from consultants and subcontractors.

Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors, Contract Managers, Project Managers, and Site Managers to ensure design requirements are met.

Develop and maintain company design standards and best practices.

Understand BREEAM and Net Zero principles and their impact on design packages.
About You:

Previous experience as an Architectural Technician, Design Co-ordinator, or CAD Technician (Cladding/Steelwork).

Knowledge of the Construction Sector.

HNC/HND/BA/BSc in a Construction/Architecture related field.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Asite is preferred.
