Optimise by Recruitment are working with a well established construction business, based in Mansfield. My client has a great portfolio of clients and projects from commerical fit-outs to various sized housing projects.
My client is looking for an experienced H&S Manager who will have the overall responsibility for the company's health & safety, and will advise all employees and contractors of their polices and procedures and ensure they are upheld throughout.
Duties include, but are not limited;

You will have overall responsibility for and ensure compliance with the Company's Health and Safety policies.

Provide advice and guidance to all employees and subcontractors on Health and Safety matters.

Manage and oversee staff training requirements, conducting internal training as needed.

Develop and maintain method statements and risk assessments for construction sites.

Conduct regular site inspections and submit detailed reports.

Maintain company accreditations and certifications.

Conduct thorough investigations of accidents and near miss incidents, including reporting procedures like R.I.D.D.O.R.

Stay updated on industry changes, legislation, and attend relevant seminars/workshops.
Requirements;

Prior experience in the construction industry, preferably with multi-site operations.

Qualification in occupational health and safety (e.g., masters, NVQ, BSC, NEBOSH national diploma).

Preferably an IOSH membership.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on report writing.

Understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and applicable legislation.
