My client is a local authority, currently seeking an experienced Finance Officer on a short term, contract. This is a great opportunity to join a public sector organisation and develop experience in this sector.
Job Function:
• The post holder will assist with the financial services and general support. This will involve reporting, creating journals, budget movements, coding corrections and reconciliations sharing the tasks outlined in the Job Description amongst the team of Finance Officers
• Investigate general financial queries (including supporting the year-end closure and audit requests) and assist in maintaining manual and computerised records including Imprest accounts
Skills required:
(HCC) Ability to communicate effectively face to face, over the phone and in writing - Essential
(HCC) Able to plan use of own time and work to deadlines.- Essential
(HCC) Detailed knowledge of ICT equipment, and have a good understanding on the use of various software packages including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and general databases - Essential
Experience of working in a finance office and creating and reconciling financial journals - Advanced
Reconciliation Of Accounts.- Advanced
Support Finance And Service Staff Using Agresso - Intermediate
AAT part qualified or equivalent
Hours:
Mon-Fri 9.00- 17.00 hrs
Office based, with possible hybrid working (TBC)
