Job Title: Interim Programme Manager - Capital Projects
Location: West Yorkshire, hybrid
Duration: 3-6 months ongoing
Salary/Rate: Circa £500 per day Inside IR35
Our client, a local authority in West Yorkshire, is seeking an experienced Interim Programme Manager to oversee and manage current and future capital projects and minor works.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the Council's technical and administrative manager for capital projects and minor works.
Develop a Programme Risk Register for ongoing schemes
Support and play an active role in achieving value for money in the procurement of goods and services.
Work with the Children & Young People programme to develop the corporate estate and wider services.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure sound decision-making in project delivery.
Act as the key client in managing capital projects and minor works through the Property partnership and other third parties.
Serve as the PFHS point of contact for all services commissioning works and projects.
Take a leading role on behalf of the PFHS Team in project and programme management.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience
Full membership of one or more of the following construction-related professional organisations: APM, ARB, CIOB, RIBA, RICS etc.
Project or programme management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, MSP, APM).
Understanding of Schools Capital Programme delivery and clear understanding of capital and buildings aspects of the Children and Young People's service areas needs and requirements.
Proven experience in managing capital projects and minor works, preferably within a local authority or public sector environment.
Experience in procurement and achieving value for money in goods and services.
Strong project and programme management skills with the ability to manage complex projects.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
