Shift Team Leader – Biomass Power Station
Salary up to circa £55,000 + bonus + benefits

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Shift Team Leader to join the operations department of a biomass power station near Lochgelly, Scotland. The Shift Team Leader will be responsible for directing and managing the shift team effectively to ensure the site meets its operational targets in a safe and efficient manner.
As a Shift Team Leader, you will be responsible for:
Supervising a team of Shift Operators and Fuel Operators ensuring efficient operation the power station
Ensuring the plant is operating in line with the sites environmental permit
Managing the safe systems of work as a site SAP for issuing permits
Managing shift team resources to ensure effective training and development of operational staff
Liaising with the maintenance department when required to ensure minimum downtime and maximum operational availability
Carrying out all activities with the highest regard for health and safety
To be considered for this role you should have:
Experience at Shift Team Leader / Production Team Leader or Senior Operator level in an operational power generation environment or similar. This could be EFW, biomass, site utilities, distillery, chemical production or waste water/sludge treatment
Ideally a relevant engineering qualification such as NVQ or apprenticeship etc
Experience with coordinating and supervising work activities including shift staff and site contractors
Ideally experience as an SAP and experience with HV switching duties would be advantageous
An adaptable approach to working routines and willingness to work on a shift pattern that involves 12-hour shifts
