Role: Finance Manager - Food Central Commercial Finance
Location: Hybrid - 3 days per week in London
Length: Initially 2 months
Fully woven into the DNA, our Finance team plays a fundamental role in setting the pace for our key business decisions, shaping our budgets, analysing our sales, managing costs and making sure our most vital statistics and data are absolutely accurate.
With a focus on adding new value to all business areas by helping them make data-driven decisions and understand what is driving commercial performance - it's our job to make sure the right tools, processes, governance, and ways of working are in place to support this.
We are looking for a highly motivated and commercially minded Finance Manager to join the Central Commercial Finance team. This role is critical to the delivery of our revenue and profit targets through value-add analysis, delivery of the budget and monthly reporting processes from sales to gross profit, business partnering our Central Commercial Operations teams and driving consistency, control and efficiency through the creation of standardised and new capabilities in our reporting, processes, governance and controls across our Trading teams.
Key Accountabilities
Support delivery of revenue and profit targets:
Understand key sales, margin and profitability drivers and pro-actively undertake analysis to support the Business to ensure we identify sales and margin opportunities both short-term and long-term.
Support the weekly trade performance, managing the Latest Estimate process and co-ordinating risks and opps to plan. Challenge performance through independent analysis and insight.
Present sophisticated information credibly and with impact to senior stakeholders to influence the business.Own delivery of budget and monthly reporting processes:
Responsible for co-ordinating and delivering the annual budget process and quarterly reforecast process from a Commercial Finance perspective from sales to gross profit, ensuring a robust, efficient and aligned approach across the Food business.
Facilitate the monthly commercial review process; understanding performance, understanding risks and opportunities to plan and providing insightful analysis into the monthly trading performance.
Work collaboratively with the FP&A, Cost, Systems and Reporting teams to ensure an efficient and planned approach to budgeting and forecasting.Be a brilliant Business Partner to Central Commercial Operations:
Responsible for finance business partnering support for our Lowering Cost, Plan A and Pricing & Promotion teams; providing independent insight, accurate reporting and challenging performance.Support continuous improvement in our reporting capabilities, governance, processes and controls:
Responsible for reporting of event performance and new product development; supporting the R&A team with Power BI dashboard development, owning the financial PIR process and driving insight through deep-dive analysis.
Be a brilliant Business Partner to our embedded Finance teams within the trading areas, supporting the drive to standardisation and consistency where appropriate.Build a high performing team and develop talent:
Line manage a team of 2 Finance Analysts, building a high performance culture.
