As a result they are now seeking a Sales Manager for Power and Utilities
The role
The Sales Manager will be responsible for increasing sales, expanding reach and ultimately market share of Utilities sector in Scotland and Ireland
This key role is a senior sales position, involving Key Account Management and Business Development responsibilities, as well as Project Management capabilities via cross functional collaboration to deliver the sales growth plan.
The Sales Manager will take a proactive role in developing the sales growth strategy. Being a customer facing role the Sales Manager will therefore be required to spend a significant proportion of their time visiting customers.
Main responsibilities of the role:
- Build relationships with key decision makers, building the project opportunity pipeline for the Utilities sector
- Market Intelligence gathering including defining target customers and their supply chain and business needs, competition analysis, technology adoption monitoring, specification and standards evolution.
- Use and contribute to the CRM system, co-coordinating all sales activities to achieve budget.
- Generate sales and margin for project a based business, driving quotation conversion rates. For utilities’ frameworks, win and secure supply agreements.
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions with the support of the company’s legal counsel. Managing project delivery by working with different departments involved, including, but not limited to, customer services, planning, manufacturing, quality and testing, and transport
- Provide forecasting and revenue reporting regularly.
Requirements
- Previous Sales and Business Development experience in the Electrical Engineering Industry either with a manufacturer or distributor
- BSC/HNC/HND/BTEC/ONC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent competence gained through experience
- Knowledge of low, medium or high voltage cables and associated components like connectors and switchgear
- Previous experience supporting some of the following; District Network Operatiors (DNO), Civil Engineering companies, Power Tansmission and Distribution Contractors, IDNO's, Jointing companies and OEM's
- Well versed in both new business development and key account management
This is a full time remote based position covering Scotland and Ireland
