Role Purpose
To provide services which enable individuals to maximise their independence, building on their strengths and enabling people to live healthy independent lives for as long as possible in their own homes, or the place they call home.
To achieve agreed service outcomes and outputs, and personal appraisal targets, as agreed with the line manager.
Responsibilities
To provide services which enable individuals to maximise their independence, building on their strengths and enabling people to live healthy independent lives for as long as possible in their own homes, or the place they call home.
To provide a range of services for Adults in Islington who are over the age of 18 with a range of needs including learning disability, physical and sensory needs, mental health and older people.
To deputise for the Deputy Director Provider Services and support them to ensure that the services are operating at the highest standard and in accordance with the Care Act 2014 and the Care Quality Commission Fundamental Standards, with the expectation that all regulated services achieve a Good or Outstanding CQC Rating.
To drive positive cultural change across the services, embodying and promoting the commitment to strength-based practice model, with a person-centred approach, promoting independence, community connection and measurable outcomes.
To monitor and co-ordinate the annual formulation of budgets for provider services and ensure effective budgetary management and control across all provider services.
Ensure that the services are cost effective, innovative, using strength-based practice values and focussed on maximising independence for people with complex needs.
To ensure that robust systems for risk assessment, service planning, performance measurement and improvement in regulated and directly provided services are implemented and reviewed regularly.
To effectively monitor and support the achievement of organisational performance targets, HR related business targets and provide a clear and regular account of service performance.
To manage disciplinary procedures including conducting formal investigations, presenting at and chairing hearings and taking other formal and informal action as appropriate.
Requirements
Experience and understanding of strengths-based approaches and the ability to develop and lead implementation in provider services
Understanding of safeguarding, including legislative responsibilities, and the ability to ensure services and staff meet their responsibilities in this area
Understanding of health and social care legislation including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2007 and other relevant statutory legislation.
Experience of managing major budgets and negotiating service agreements and contracts related to provider services.
Ability to develop effective partnerships at a senior level, including working with external providers, CQC, NHS, CCG and the Voluntary Sector.
To undertake training and continuing professional development and help improve knowledge and technical understanding of the role.Contract
