My client is a leading innovator in the drone technology sector, dedicated to advancing the frontiers of aerial innovation. With a commitment to excellence and quality, they continuously strive to enhance their products and production processes. They are currently seeking a talented Junior/Undergraduate Production Engineer to join their team and lead the improvement of their manual assembly line for drones.
Position Overview:
As a Production/Industrial Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimising their assembly line processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyse current assembly procedures, identify areas for improvement, and implement innovative solutions to streamline our production operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct a comprehensive analysis of their current manual assembly line for drones, including workflow, equipment utilization, and resource allocation.

Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement in the assembly process.

Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflow, minimize downtime, and improve overall productivity.

Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless integration of process improvements.

Design and implement new assembly fixtures, tools, and techniques to enhance efficiency and product quality.

Conduct time and motion studies to establish optimal cycle times and work standards.

Establish performance metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of process improvements.

Provide training and support to production staff to ensure successful implementation of new processes and procedures.

Supply and update documentation/ instruction for manufactured products.

Help resolving Engineer change requests (ECRs) related to production.

Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices in assembly line optimization and automation.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industrial experience.

Interest in process improvement and optimization in a manufacturing environment.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, analyse, and interpret data to drive decision-making.

Proficiency in relevant software: CAD software for designing fixtures and assembly aids (Solidworks).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams.

Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay: £30,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
