The role
To lead and oversee the operation and planning of IT infrastructure across the site, making recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team about future plans, innovation and procurement. To oversee the management of the technical support teams and to provide training and support as and when required.
Key Responsibilities
• Setting up of Windows, Linux & Mac desktop/laptop hardware for colleagues, including purchasing, and handling returns/warranties.
• Manage office network infrastructure, including security policies, role access, VPNs, backups, and Wi-Fi.
• Provide support for third-party applications, particularly VoIP.
• Assist with the company’s compliance with its ISO27001 certification, including penetration testing, security policy, maintenance of asset & access control registry (including secure password management system) and incident management.
• Administer the company’s internal Sage server and SSLs.
• Administer and manage the company’s Office 365 (Includes a migration project of company files from internal server to OneDrive).
Key Requirements
• Experience with hosted environments, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud etc
• Understanding of ISO27001 standards (training will be provided if not).
• Strong background in IT infrastructure management.
• Office 365 administrator knowledge.
• Knowledge of MS SQL Server/Azure SQL & Virtualisation
• Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment using tools like Azure DevOps, Git (for .NET, Magento & WordPress projects)
• Ability to optimise and manage infrastructure costs, using tools like Azure Cost Management
• Understanding of Azure Virtual Network, VPN Gateway, Network Security Groups, and other networking components in Azure.
• Understanding of Automation using tools such as Azure Pipelines and/or TeamCity would be a benefit.
• Proficient at analysing logs using such tools as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Security Centre.
• Knowledge of containers whilst not essential will be helpful for future projects.
