Duties and Responsibilities:
The preparation of monthly cashflow forecasts using information from the ledgers
The generation and presentation of monthly reports detailing problem accounts and action necessary
Liaise with clients/management to ensure systems reflect the correct contract terms of contract
Issuance of monthly statements in a timely manner
Posting invoices to the computer system
Raising and monitoring applications for payments utilising the system (CIS)
The use of appropriate credit control techniques to secure payment of all invoices detailed in the debtor ledger
Collection of retentions outstanding (CIS)
Liaising with contracts to determine accuracy of the final accounts for sign off (CIS)
Continually updating the bad debt provision providing sufficient information as to new additions and write-offs
The maintenance of appropriate records to facilitate follow-up action when necessary
Obtaining director approval on any contract terms which are less favourable
Dealing with invoice queries from clients, referring these to sales/contracts as necessary and ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner
Ensuring emails received by generic AR inbox are actioned as necessary in a timely manner
Instructing external legal team to issue LBA’s where debt becomes overdue
All other aspects of sales ledger housekeeping deemed necessary and ad-hoc duties
Person Specification:
Strong organisational and decision-making skills is essential
Excellent inter-personal skills
First class planning & organisational skills
Good presentation, written and oral communication skills
Must be an innovative thinker and commercially aware
Must be willing to develop interpersonal and communication skills
Must be computer literate particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word
Mature and customer focused attitude (able to handle difficult discussions and customer complaints) is essential
A belief in the fact that customers are revenue & everything else is overhead is essential
Able to perform in an environment where accountability and ownership represent Core Values is essential
3 years credit control/sales ledger experience
