Job Title: Software Engineering Manager
Hybrid: 2 days per week on-site, 3 days remote
Locations: London, Manchester, or Bournemouth
Salary: £80,000 base + Bonus
Overview: My client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead and inspire a team of talented engineers. This role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for technology and a proven ability to manage IT projects from conception to delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing software engineering team. Foster a collaborative and motivating environment, ensuring the team is aligned and working towards common goals.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage effectively with senior stakeholders, understanding their needs and ensuring their expectations are met. Maintain clear and proactive communication channels.
Project Management: Oversee the delivery of high-quality software products and services. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the required quality standards.
Agile Practices: Utilise Agile and Scrum methodologies to manage project workflows. Adapt processes as necessary to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and direction to the team. Stay updated with industry trends and integrate best practices into the development process.
Problem Solving: Identify and address obstacles that impede the team's progress. Implement solutions to enhance team performance and project outcomes.
Process Improvement: Evaluate and refine development processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team.Required Skills:
Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to engage and manage senior stakeholders, understanding their needs and delivering on expectations.
Leadership: Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing technical teams.
Organisational Skills: Exceptional organisational abilities to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Technical Expertise: While a solid technical or software engineering background is preferred, they are open to considering candidates from a project delivery background. You should have experience in Agile Scrum practices and the ability to provide technical guidance and direction to the team.
Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Capable of facilitating difficult discussions and driving collaboration.Benefits:
