Client: Our client is a leading provider of Quantity Surveying and Legal support across all sectors of the construction industry. Having been established for over 20 years the business has built excellent relationships with small SMEs to large PLCs. Their specialist sector is building services where their client base consists of a variety of M&E Contractors including Mace, Skanska and SPIE Matthew Hall.
With market conditions improving throughout the sector our client is currently looking to add to its growing Building Services team. They are therefore looking for Trainee to Senior Surveyors to be based within London and the surrounding home counties. To work on a diversity of contracts in the commercial, education, public, healthcare and aviation sectors; with project values ranging from £500K to £200M MEP. The businesses core works are post contract and are generally NEC/JCT contract forms.
Role: Trainee M&E Quantity Surveyor – London – Salary up to £20,000 - £35,000 (Depending on Experience) + Car Allowance + Pension + Healthcare + Expenses
As a trainee M&E Quantity Surveyor you will be working into a project Quantity Surveyor on multiple smaller projects or part of a team on larger projects. Procurement and supply chain management (package management) are core to this position.
Key Responsibilities:

Contractual negotiation (depending on seniority)

Procurement/package of sub contractors (if involved in compilation of tender packages)

Value Engineering (assessing areas of contract and scope that can be used to increase profit)

Cost Value reconciliations (CVRs)

Cash Flow forecasting

Management of subcontractor accounts

Negotiation of variations, calculations & settlement of final accounts

Applications & negotiations of variation accounts

Contractual disputes
The ideal candidate will:

Ambitious with proactive outlook on work.

Have a minimum of 3 years surveying experience and a relevant commercial qualification.

In depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical installations

Ambitious and hard-working attitude with a desire to progress through the ranks

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to hit the ground running and pick up information quickly
