We are looking to recruit a Legal Secretary to join the Dispute Resolution team of a well-regarded firm in Bury St Edmunds.
You will be responsible for the following duties:

Typing documents including letters, forms, attendance notes, briefs to Counsel, invoices including by audio transcription.

Maintaining records and databases, including client, case and contact details in the Company’s practice software, and completing online submissions to appropriate services and authorities.

Proactively assisting the team’s lawyer(s) to manage their schedule in a very fast-paced environment.

Handling enquirers by phone and in person, recommending appropriate services and arranging consultations / appointments / call-back.

Fielding and taking calls from clients and third parties, taking detailed messages and passing them for action or information to the relevant lawyer.

Entering a record of key dates in the department or case lawyer’s diary and the firm’s central diary

File Management including opening new files, conducting conflict checks, onboarding clients, maintaining both electronic and paper files in good order, completing and filing documentation

Preparing draft forms and documents, with client details and other basic information available

Assisting with the collation of documents for court and other bundles using the appropriate software.

Preparing reports from the Company’s practice software for billing and regular reviews.
