Zest Education is currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a special educational needs school in Stoke-on-Trent. This long-term position is available for the full academic year, starting September 2024 for the right candidate.
The school provides exceptional education and support to students aged 4-19 with Autism (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH). We are looking for a compassionate individual with experience in supporting individuals with special educational needs or experience within a care environment.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating a supportive and inclusive environment for our students. Working under the guidance of the class teacher, you will provide 1:1 support and assistance to students, as well as working with them in small groups. Your dedication and commitment to putting the children at the heart of everything you do will contribute to their overall development and well-being.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide support and assistance to students with special educational needs
- Work closely with the class teacher to implement individual learning plans
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Engage students in educational and social activities
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as therapists and counsellors, to ensure holistic support for students
