Abatec are currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager, to join our client, a Civil Engineering contractor, based in Reading.
This role will have overall responsibility for the management and success of a number of projects, including customer relations, health and safety, quality, environmental, programme and the cost/value of operations under his/her control.
As a Contracts Manager you will:

Assist with the establishment and delivery of the objectives and targets contained within the Annual Business Unit Business Plan;

Maintain effective and long-term relationships with internal and external customers and their representatives/advisors;

Implement and maintaining Tilbury Douglas' Strategy and Policies for Sustainability, Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental, Training and Development etc;
-
Prioritise and meet pre-defined deadlines; Ensuring the project teams comply with the Companies Business Management System;

Be proactive in the identification and resolution of problems;
-
Review methods of working, alternative materials etc in order to maximise commercial profitability; Managing, monitoring, supporting, mentoring and counselling members of the project teams in their personal development;

Undertake annual appraisal for staff directly reporting to the role; Seeking and developing ongoing continuous improvement; Providing aftercare services to the customers;

Directly supervises a number of project teams comprising project and site managers, engineers, quantity surveyors and foremen etc;
Our client requires a Contracts Manager with:
-
Experience in a similar Contract Management role for a main contractor (desirable);

Experience as a Project Manager or similar for a main contractor (essential Degree (or equivalent) in appropriate construction related subject (desirable);

Professional Qualification e.g. CIOB (desirable); CITB Level 3 Safety Course (essential);

Appropriate CSCS Card (essential). High level of leadership and management skills;

Technical experience and knowledge (desirable);

High level of Commercial and Financial ability;

Excellent organisational and communication skills;

Experience in a similar role (desirable);

Salary and benefits include:
£75,000 - £85,000
