Belmont recruitment are looking to speak with experience recovery workers and substance misuse workers to work within the HMP Wormwood Scrubs and HMP Brixton on a permanent basis on behalf of The Forward Trust who provide the substance misuse care for offenders.
The Recovery Counsellor role will have you working within both HMP Wormwood Scrubs and HMP Brixton to deliver psychosocial interventions to offenders and work in close partnership to external teams that help with unscheduled and planned care, release and resettlement for service users 18 and over residing within the prisons. The service takes a recovery orientated and trauma informed approach to delivery of holistic health and wellbeing interventions and various treatment programmes for those coming into the prison who experience drugs and/or alcohol misuse issues.
As Recovery Counsellor, you will support the integrated Services to deliver a counselling service using appropriate interventions dependent on the requirements of the individual client.
This will be done through managing a caseload of clients, delivering psychosocial structured 1:1 and group work sessions, working alongside recovery workers to deliver a proactive approach to building partnerships with wider healthcare services and the prison.
You must be accredited with the BACP/UKCP (in possession of current fit to practice certificate).
Please note that prison vetting will be provided to the selected candidate, this process allows you to work in Prisons nationwide for the foreseeable, this does cost the organisation and as a result would need your full commitment for this role as this can take a few months, please only consider this role if you are in a position to wait for the prison vetting to be completed or currently have prison vetting.
This role will have you working Monday to Friday, 9-5 and will be paying a salary of £28,877.00.
