Background:
Our client was established in 2008 and provides grounds maintenance, winter gritting and snow clearance, tree surgery, interior and exterior plant displays, gritting as well as a design and build service to clients from within the Private and Public sectors. Their ethos is to work with their people and their clients to form long term relationships where everyone can flourish. They are an environmentally focused organisation, and their aim is to be the safest and market leading landscaping organisation.
As a result of continued growth, we are seeking a Sales Manager with experience in bidding for corporate Interior and Exterior planting schemes, along with managing a team of Business Development Managers, to join our fun and hardworking group. We are looking for someone who is dynamic, enthusiastic and has experience within the Corporate Interior and Exterior horticulture field.
Aim of Role:
To deliver profitable growth, identifying and developing new relationships and opportunities that increase market share within our Interior Plant Displays business.
Responsibilities:
- To identify new business opportunities – including new clients, partnerships
- To build strong relationships with new clients and stakeholders, demonstrating that we understand their business needs and developing proposals.
- Maintain and develop existing relationships with clients.
- Able to pick up and understand the business offering, the competition in our industry and our positioning in the marketplace.
Sales Manager
- Manage all bids in a timely, effective and efficient manner to meet client specifications and Company requirements for tender submission.
- Partial responsibility for pitching their service offering to new clients/partners
- Ensure all interactions with customers during bid process i.e., PQQ and presentations etc. Clearly articulate the customer proposition as well as the competitive advantage, mission and values.
- Attendance at Networking conferences/events in effort to build relationships across our industry
- Ensure all bids within division meet the highest standards of completeness and comply with brand requirements on identity and USP.
- Design and development of KPI’s/goals and objectives for the Interiors sales team to drive business growth.
- Managing performance of the sales team to achieve business objectives.
- Mentoring and developing the sales team supporting them in achieving team and personal objectives/goals.
- Working with Director for Interiors ensure that all bids have a robust and sustainable pricing model.
- Development and oversight of new marketing initiatives for the Plant Displays operation
- Maintain a healthy pipeline, ensuring all information relation to opportunities is captured within our Sales System.
- Participate in self-development via appraisal outcomes and other methods of feedback.
- Participation in other business projects.

Person Specification - Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience and a highly effective and proven service sales professional
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in contracting or maintenance sectors
- Leadership experience
- Competent in Microsoft office 365 - Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to conduct own analysis and research
- Ability to demonstrate a basic awareness of our Business and sector along with a demonstrable commitment to learn more
