You'll take on the responsibility of leading the training and staff development plan for this leading specialist construction company.
This is the chance for you to take on this vital function and ensure all staff have the relevant training for their job role. From site labourers up to Directors, you'll plan, arrange and manage all of the internal and external training that's required.
You'll also be challenged with developing and refining the plan/strategy which is particularly important as the business continues to grow at pace (currently 30% yearly growth)
A very brief overview of your duties:

Complete the annual training needs analysis

Manage, update and regularly review the training competency and skills matrix.

Review and renew relevant training ensuring all staff are appropriately qualified and compliant with their role.

Manage and facilitate all training requests.

Develop and manage relationships with external training partners.

Manage and facilitate in house and external development/training from workforce to leadership

Manage the training budget and ensure cost effective delivery of training.

Manage relationship with the CITB and other relevant construction industry organisations

Manage relationships with colleges and universities to deliver our early careers graduate and apprenticeship schemes.

Advise trainees and internal stakeholders on suitable qualification routes for early careers employees.

Manage and facilitate registration and mentoring for employees working towards professional memberships.

Manage Professional/Academic qualifications policy.

Facilitate and manage initiatives linked to employment and skills, including job fairs, school visits, taster programmes etc.

Champion initiatives to streamline processes and procedures to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.

Support on People Team initiatives and projects.
It's a hugely busy and rewarding role, ultimately ensuring the staff have the required skills gained from training to carry out their job. You'll be visiting projects to gain a deeper understanding of the current and future training needs, as well as the culture of the company and it's employees.
About you:

Experience in a similar role in the construction or civil engineering sectors

Some knowledge of construction industry training, qualifications etc would be a real plus

A genuine "roll your sleeves up" hands on attitude

Extremely well organised and fastidious with detail

Excellent relationship builder with a confident personality
