Purpose of the Role
As a Deputy Manager, you’ll play a vital role in the smooth running of our care home. Working alongside the Care Home Manager, you’ll lead a dedicated team of nursing, care, and domestic staff, ensuring high standards of care and a supportive environment for both residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership: Support the Care Home Manager in daily operations and step in during their absence.
Team Supervision: Lead and mentor staff to deliver high-quality, individualized care.
Quality Care: Ensure care meets the highest standards and adapt plans to meet residents' needs.
Resident Focus: Champion a person-centered approach, respecting residents' choices and enhancing their well-being.
Safeguarding: Act as a key contact for safeguarding issues, ensuring policies are followed.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety, infection control, and CQC regulations.
Communication: Maintain open communication with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
Emergency Readiness: Ensure staff are trained for emergencies and equipment is maintained.
Record Management: Keep accurate records of resident care and regulatory compliance.
Community Building: Encourage resident participation in social activities to foster a vibrant community.
Medication Oversight: Manage the safe administration of medications.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on healthcare practices and pursue relevant training.
Skills and Experience
Deputy Manager Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within a care home.
Resident Engagement: Ability to understand and meet residents' needs.
Safeguarding Expertise: Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and the ability to report concerns.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiar with CQC standards and other relevant regulations.
Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills with residents, families, and professionals.
Care Program Ownership: Encourage resident and family involvement in care planning.
